Halwell Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has unanimously approved the intention to amalgamate with Dumfries Mutual Insurance Company. The companies have been working together over the course of 2023 to assess how the companies are aligned, as well as the benefits of coming together. A robust due diligence process has been undertaken, and as such, the Board of Directors and Management teams of Halwell Mutual and Dumfries Mutual will be seeking approval from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) as well as the members in Q3 and Q4 2023.

We anticipate that a Special General Meeting will be held in late September or early October.
